Growing demand for Cape Town’s luxury retirement apartments

An increasing number of SA’s senior individuals and couples are opting to move into retirement homes and apartments within ‘retirement lifestyle estates’, a term that denotes far more than just accommodation. It includes a large number of lifestyle benefits as well.

Says Phil Wilson, National Sales Manager of Evergreen Lifestyles, SA’s first national award-winning retirement brand, “Evergreen Lifestyles retirement villages, situated throughout the country, offer a variety of homes, cottages and now apartments – all catering to a range of tastes and preferences, and offering the benefit of numerous upmarket facilities.”

“The apartments, which have been introduced more recently to the market, have been selling extremely well,” he explains. “At Evergreen Diep River, launched in April 2013, 80% of units in this apartment-only complex have been sold, with only 10 remaining,” says Wilson. Lock-up-and-go 1-bedroom apartments are available from as little as R600 000, with sought-after large 2-bedroom apartments also available from R1,650,000. All offer the purchaser immediate occupation.
