The Trend Kitchen Feature by Slavin at Decorex Joburg will showcase visual inspiration and an enhanced level of kitchen design.

The Trend Kitchen Feature by Slavin at Decorex Joburg will brings emerging trends in colour, appliance, design and even food to kitchen design.

The emerging trends in colour, appliance, design and even food will captivate all tastes at this year’s Trend Kitchen Feature by Slavin. This will form part of the innovative features’ programme at this year’s Decorex Joburg, taking place at the Gallagher Convention Centre from 7 to 11 August.

“We have seen a massive rise in food and design-related television shows that have really highlighted the role of the kitchen space and its importance within the home,” explained Sian Cullingworth, Portfolio Director at Reed Exhibitions. “Responding to the increasing demand for kitchen design ideas, Decorex Joburg has introduced this year’s exciting installation, Trend Kitchen Feature by Slavin, with visual inspiration from one of the country’s leading kitchen design companies.”

A peek at the Trend Kitchen

Slavin is a manufacturing and design facility that breaks away from the stereotyped norms of standard kitchen thinking. They will be bringing their enhanced level of kitchen design to this year’s feature through a range of interesting techniques.

“We have teamed up with a young, up-and-coming furniture designer who has collaborated on a number of the kitchen design elements,” explained Marius Greyling of Slavin. “We are focusing on not just perfecting the heart of the home, but also creating ‘The Art of the Home’ by using the kitchen as the medium.”

He said that colour and innovative design ideas are being embraced in modern kitchens and Slavin will be elevating this to the next level by incorporating the latest colour palettes and materials available, using on-trend design elements and the latest in lighting and technology for their kitchen design: “We’ll be creating a unique and personalised work of art that can be displayed while remaining a functional room in the home.”

Visitors can also look forward to some of the industry’s best in hardware and cabinet solutions as Slavin teams up with Blum.

“All Slavin kitchens are designed with workflow and functionality as primary focuses and, working with Blum, we will use this space to educate the public on what is best in terms of workflow and layout. This will assist in making informed decisions when renovating or building a kitchen.”

Then onto appliances where Trend Kitchen Feature by Slavin has brought on board one of the best, Miele’s Generation 7000 appliances. Designed for the ‘kitchen of the future’, Miele’s Generation 7000 have a timeless design that excels in every respect. They also include features like Smart Assistant and Food View which means users can cook food remotely using an app.

“They have not been officially launched globally so this is the perfect opportunity for visitors to get an exclusive look at the new range,” said Greyling. “We will also use this feature to showcase what we believe is an emerging trend in the market in terms of healthy eating and living – the Home Farm Unit. This allows people to cultivate their own micro-herbs in the kitchen! It’s a new genre of appliance that will become a must in the home of every health-conscious family.”
