Duram’s latest specialist product innovations, RubberFlex and PrimeX, like all Duram products, are made to look better and last longer, at the very best value.

RubberFlex

Duram RubberFlex is a rubberised waterproof coating with a 12-year guarantee used for seamless joint-free waterproofing. It’s also an attractive high-build roof paint that provides a protective barrier that encapsulates and extends the lifespan of the roof. RubberFlex offers 400% elongation and has exceptional tensile strength and elastic recovery. Used with Duram Duramesh membrane, RubberFlex withstands cracking and movement of the underlying surface and withstands varying roof temperatures. It’s a pure acrylic polymer that is UV- and weather-resistant, colourfast and shrugs off dirt. RubberFlex has excellent adhesion to a variety of substrates, including roof tiles, fibre-cement, cement and wood, and protects against corrosion on metal when used with Duram NS Metal Coatings. It offers good chemical resistance and has an attractive low-sheen finish in a variety of colours, with excellent obliteration and recoating properties.

PrimeX

Duram PrimeX is a 2-in-1 water-based primer and topcoat that can be applied directly onto multiple and difficult substrates, with extreme adhesion to ceramic tiles, melamine, Masonite, Formica, aluminium, galvanised iron, glass, PVC, wood, MDF, cement and enamel paint for interior and exterior use. If any of these substrates is a little outdated and needs a fresh new look, PrimeX is the right candidate for the job.

PrimeX is a dual-action cross-linking primer and protective topcoat that is hardwearing – scratch-, stain-, UV- and weather-resistant.

It offers optimum coverage and obliteration, is quick drying and has excellent flow and levelling for a smooth, medium-sheen finish. The medium lustre protects against wear and tear, making this easy-maintenance finish ideal for areas with higher traffic. It has low splatter and easy application with brush, roller or spray, which saves time and labour.

If you want to get creative with colour, Duram PrimeX is optimised for colour – you can now tint PrimeX to any Duram colour. Simply pick your colour from the Duram Colour Wall at your leading hardware store or other colour reference, and the colour tinting consultant at the paint counter will provide you with the finished product.

Both Duram’s RubberFlex and PrimeX offer enviro-care benefits, which means low odour and low VOC with minimal chemical emissions, protecting your health and that of the environment.

They are water-based for easy clean-up without the need for strong chemicals. RubberFlex is also APEO free, making it safe for non-potable rainwater harvesting and aquatic life.

These products comply with the South African legal lead limit of 90ppm or less, and the paint containers are 100% recyclable and reusable.
